Bird-of-the-Month Contest Spotlights Rare Birds on CT Birds ListServ

COA is holding a “Bird Of The Month” BOTM contest this month, December 1-31.

If you find a (or are aware of an otherwise unreported) noteworthy bird this month, please immediately post it on the COA CTBirds listserv (send it into this email address   ctbirds@lists.ctbirding.org — this is our ONLY pipeline for input of these BOTM reports, during this December experimental test run of this new project). Do not forget to also enter it into eBird and other counts (Christmas Bird Count, CT Bird Atlas, etc).
Please put ‘BOTM’ at the beginning of your subject line of your email to us at CTBirds listserv.

All candidate birds will be listed during the month and ranked by the end of month, and the winner (actually the top five or ten most noteworthy birds, and you) will be featured on the COA website and on CTBirds listserv.

This new event is designed to focus on vagrants, rarities and the changing and often surprising bird life in CT.   If you are not sure if a bird is noteworthy, just submit it and let us consider it.

If you have any questions about any of this, please contact Tom Robben at robben99@gmail.com

Of course you can view the COA CTBirds listserv here: https://lists.ctbirding.org/empathy/list/ctbirds.lists.ctbirding.org

Great Birding,
