Audubon CT Greenwich: Birding Trip: Waterbirds & Migrants at Cove Island Park
November 2 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
$15Join us as we explore one of Stamford CT’s best coastal birding locations. Cove Island Park has been designated a state Important Bird Area for its variety of coastal, thicket, and woodland habitat that makes it home to an incredible variety of both resident and migrant bird species. The coast of Long Island Sound provides wintering grounds for ducks, loons, and grebes while the park’s bird sanctuary offers meadow, thicket, and woodland habitats perfect for viewing migrating songbirds as they journey south. Binoculars will be available for anyone who needs them.
Transportation will NOT be provided from the Greenwich Audubon Center. Attendees will meet at the entrance of the Cove Island Wildlife Sanctuary, located at 1125 Cove Road, Stamford, CT. Upon entering Cove Island Park make a RIGHT into the parking area and proceed to the far end. A Google Maps GPS coordinate is provided here.
