Audubon CT Sharon: For the Love of Birds

This Valentine’s season, join Sharon Audubon Center staff and volunteers in expressing your love for our resident raptors by enriching their lives. Enrichment is an important part of daily care for these birds that promotes stimulation, curiosity, and learning. Discover what enrichment is all about, what it looks like for our birds, and then make your own enrichment item to give to the resident raptor of your choice!
Kim Champagne and Iris Lambert have been volunteering as raptor curators with the Sharon Audubon Center for eight years. Many of the perches hung in our raptor aviaries have been affixed by them, in addition to many important aviary repairs. Their interest in companion parrot enrichment and training has been applied to our resident raptors and includes work with our brainy Turkey Vulture and curious corvid. Simply put, they’re incredible!
Fee: $10/adult, $5/child (ages under 16)

Public parking is located fewer than 50 yards from the nature center facility.
Public restrooms available.
Most of the program will be held indoors, with a brief walk to the raptor aviaries (fewer than 200 meters one-way.)
