Waterfowl Walk

Old Saybrook
Old Saybrook
As lakes and ponds freeze further north, many species of waterfowl flock to the coast in winter in CT looking for open water. Towards the end of winter, many of these birds start showing off their elaborate courtship behaviors. We’ll look for dabblers and divers at the mouth of the Connecticut River and in Long Island Sound.
– Walk will be approximately 1-1.5 miles on level paved, grass, and sandy terrain. Exposure to wind, sun, and cold is possible depending on the weather. No restrooms on site.
